Sorry ladies, I am spoken for

Et tu Cato???

I usually agree with the Cato Institute, but... Suggesting that we should buy into the narrative that it is common sense to curtail certain rights and is the burden of the people who want to keep those rights to prove that they should be preserved is bravo Sierra. We have already compromised and we know if we have them an inch they will take a mile and eventually take the whole highway.

That about sums it up

"You know, in certain older civilized cultures, when men failed as entirely as you have, they would throw themselves on their swords."

Just sayin'....

Watching the news this morning, I noticed that Jenna Lee on FOX is the same color as the General Lee from 'Dukes of Hazard', she should wear a shirt with '01' on the front and a confederate flag on her back.

Open letters like this need to be written, but not open but to those in charge of wasting our money and taking away our rights. http://chillywilly50.blogspot.com/2013/04/homeland-security-driving-around-our.html?m=1

More on my latest project...

So I have printed a AR15 lower, but not quite ready to start my build. There are are a few types of 3D printing, one is direct filament that the first functional AR was made from (http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-21639015) and the other is sometimes called the candy machine which is a laser that sinters the the "sugar" in layers and then a hard coating is sprayed or brushed on the surface. I only have access to the latter, so this is what I have to work with. Even though this part may work, it is still costly, so here is what I decided to do, use my 3D printed part to build mold, a polyurethane mold. This opens up a whole slew of options such as wide choice of materials (for example some polymer AR lowers are made with nylon6, I can use a similar and stronger polymer that isn't restricted by what's best for injection molding), choice of colors that are easy to mix where you are not stymied by cost of investment to change colors on a whim and last but not least is cost (as in the cost to build a mold for a injection molding machine). The versatility doesn't stop there because one thing I have noticed is that most of the people buying and using 3D printers are hampered by the fact that they lack CAD skills and more importantly 3D CAD skills. I have been in the CAD/CAM CNC industry for 20 years now and know a couple things about manufacturing. So for example, I can design a logo, cool quotes in any font or a 3D rendering of a deer for those that want to throw on a 300 blackout upper for a dedicated deer rifle or even make it so that it can accept glock mags for 9mm uppers.

So where am I going with this..... Well since it is polymer and easy to machine, I want to make and distribute 80% polymer lowers that will be strong and reliable. I have beefed up some of the areas that are prone to breakage with the polymer lowers on the market, so this could be a real viable endeavor that offers a strong and reliable lower that will pass muster once testing is all done.

So if any of you want to send me a buffer tube or some upper parts, I would be more than happy to make it worth your while. I cannot and will not send you a completed lower because that's not legal and I value my freedom, but a 80% lower with the tooling to make it into a real part with your drill press isn't that far away.

So that's what I got going on, I would like some feedback from you guys to tell me what you think.

Cheers

Humans can be resilient during times of crisis

My heart goes out to Boston, but...

Not even three hours later and the speculation, accusations and conspiracy theories are running rampant. Think I am gonna turn of the social media and the TV for a while. Look for the good stories that come outa Boston, humans can be resilient in time of crisis.

When you practice at home, keep your ammo in the other room!!!

I have mixed emotions on this....

One side tells me yes!!! this isn't going to be as bad as it could be, but the other side says this subject and bill was already dead and going to be filibustered and not even going up for a vote and now congress can screw it up if it passes. So you decide, I still have to take a closer look

Weerd would like this....

But at least we get accurate traffic reports from Google

Who do we get to charge for aiding the enemy???

I agree, all drugs should be legalized. It's about morals, plain and simple

Where is Kevin Bacon when you need him

SNL even knows that it is all BS

Sounds more like good parenting, but...

For my friends and family in AZ, this is kinda personal, maybe some of you can help.

Don't listen to me

I have been lucky in life, not smart but lucky. I was born and grew up in this country and have always known the privileges that come with my citizenship. My privileges are rights, but not having to fight for them like some have before me and you and before I was born, but regardless of how lucky I am, I do and always will take them seriously. It doesn't matter if you are of a different color, gay, strait whatever we all have rights, these are not granted by those who have the monopoly of power (also known as government). People in other countries don't enjoy the the rights that we have in this country except for the maybe some of the privileged few in those countries. It's time we listened to those people who have lived in those areas of the world and were lucky enough to tell the tales of what It's like to live without rights. I don't want to be the guy 40 years from now giving a similar speech that this gentleman gave to our senators last Friday. Now it is time to get off of our privileged asses and fight for our rights before we really need to fight for our rights.
