An apology...

Not from me, don't be silly, but believe it or not, I am not a huge fan of the NRA, they are a lobbying group that has in the past have made deals that ignored our rights in lieu of getting special legislation for manufacturers that pay more for membership, though I can't discount the other things they do for firearm owners, with that said Jason Whitlock was wrong in comparing them to the KKK and spouting off about crap he knows nothing about. The 2AF has a nice petition that calls for just an apology to the parties involved, not calling for their heads on a platter, just a basic apology.

Been busy

Haven't had much of a chance to put up some content and by the time I clear my stared Google Reader articles, it's to late and it all seems irrelevant at the time.

Part of what has been keeping me busy is work, business has been decent, had some big orders to fill, now I just need to save for December and January, the slow periods. I am sure that I benefiting off of some gubbment program to fill some need at a school to cut a pizza into equal slices because pizza is now considered a vegetable (the people who made that decision should look in the mirror if they want to see a vegetable).

One of the benefits of filling big orders and working long days and nights is the opportunity to catch up on pod-casts and audio books. I am a Star Wars geek, I miss my X-Wing fighter and all of the other toys I had back in the day, so I downloaded the Thrawn Trilogy from Audible and it's awesome. So then I went through the X-Wing series which was good and now I am finishing up the Correlian Trilogy which better have a good ending. I am almost getting tired of the Rebels always wining, it seems to make the story predictable. The Were Alive season finale is coming up and I find Mishonne from the Walking Dead a lot like CJ in Were Alive. Then you have the pro-freedom podcasts like all of your gun rights and shooting podcasts like Liberty Or Zombie Podcast (great show, they just need to come out with a show more often, but they just got their FFL so they have obviously been busy), The Road Gunner Podcast is my second favorite podcast (I don't know who my first fave is, but he asked to be my second so I have obliged) great show to learn how to cook in your truck with some prepping, politics and guns thrown in, The Gun Dudes who say that their show has 3 segments, but I count 4, but they are the Gun Dudes and have trouble memorizing state abbreviations (which is funny because they work for UPS) much less counting, The Urban Shooter staring Rev. Kenn Blanchard who even though I am a militant/agnostic (means I don't know and you don't know either) I would consider him my pastor and I always feel good after listening to his show, Dan Carlin's Common Sense and Dan Carlin's Hardcore History which are two great shows that have strong point of view and may change yours and being a fan of hstory listening to another fan of history tell the tale can easily kill 3 hours of boredom and the Squirrel Report (It's better than thinking).

Shot a Steel Challenge match last weekend, need to do some work to my .22 so I can improve my skills and  save a couple bucks. More on that later, bought some stabby things and I am looking to do some reloading, brew some beer and move in with the MBWITW, so I have some stuff coming up. Busy is good, I will be back here to boost my ego here a little later....

Mercury in retrograde

So when those who love trees complain that Sandy was caused by climate change, I counter back and say that mercury was in retrograde and then they are forced to deny either astrology or climate change or let their moonbat flag fly.

Saturday, November 3, 2012

I feel bad for the victims of Sandy, and now they are victims of their local democrat majority local gov't that has disarmed them and made the victims of looters while turning down help from the national guard and have turned away non-union help. If this is what the democrats have to offer, they can keep it, self reliance is the only way we can have freedom and liberty.

PolitiFact Weighs in on Obama and Sequestration | Cato @ Liberty:"I don’t blame the AIA (or the unions, for that matter) for peddling scary tales in order to reverse legislation that might cut into its members’ profits. That is, after all, what these companies pay the AIA to do: lobby the federal government to spend more taxpayer dollars on their clients/members. I do fault Mitt Romney and others for falling victim to this ploy—and therefore reducing the likelihood that overall government spending will ever come down, as it should.
In a perfect world, politicians would be fighting with one another over who gets credit for cutting federal spending and reducing the burden of debt that we are piling onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. They should certainly stop trying to portray such cuts as massive or draconian, because they are anything but the sort (and PolitiFact might call them on that as well)."

How's that drug war working???

"An email with the subject "Re: From MX1 -- 2" sent Monday, April 19, 2010, to Stratfor vice president of intelligence Fred Burton says:
I think the US sent a signal that could be construed as follows:
"To the [Juárez] and Sinaloa cartels: Thank you for providing our market with drugs over the years. We are now concerned about your perpetration of violence, and would like to see you stop that. In this regard, please know that Sinaloa is bigger and better than [the Juárez cartel]. Also note that [Ciudad Juárez] is very important to us, as is the whole border. In this light, please talk amongst yourselves and lets all get back to business. Again, we recognize that Sinaloa is bigger and better, so either [the Juárez cartel] gets in line or we will mess you up."
In sum, I have a gut feeling that the US agencies tried to send a signal telling the cartels to negotiate themselves. They unilaterally declared a winner, and this is unprecedented, and deserves analysis.

Read more:

Which would shows a double edged sword that the Obama regime has used against us as citizens to take away our gun rights and to keep the flow if drugs in the United States. Which has been a bloody battle as seen here in a UniVision report shown here:

So where do we go from here??? We learn from the Cato Institute that "It seems pretty clear by now that Calderón acknowledges drug legalization is the only sensible alternative to the mayhem in his country, which has cost the lives of almost 60,000 people in the last 6 years. In his final speech to the UN General Assembly, Calderón once again encouraged the United States to explore all the alternatives, “including the market alternatives,” to deal with drug consumption."

The Single-Issue Libertarian Case for Romney and I am guilty of being a single issue voter

The sad thing is that there is only one reason to vote for Romney or to say that this is the man I am choosing to be president, out of all of the other candidates like Buddy Roemer or Gary Johnson we are stuck with this one issue where we have to choose between Obummer and Romney who just happens to be the lesser of two evils, but we all know what we get when we vote for evil now don't we. It is broken down here:
The Volokh Conspiracy » Ted Frank: The Single-Issue Libertarian Case for Romney: "One can point to individual unhappy results from Republican-appointed justices, but it is a mathematical certainty that Obama-appointed justices will flip the Court on these critical issues of the rights of individuals against the government—none more critical than First Amendment protection for political speech. Once that falls, the game is over and libertarians have lost permanently. This alone is a dispositive libertarian case for Romney, even before one gets to the difference between a Romney and Obama on economic freedom and regulation."

Do you think we could buy some buy some time by voting for Mittens??? Some think so and I am starting to agree.

Col. Jeff Cooper USMC gave us the four rules as follows:

  • All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
  • Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy. (For those who insist that this particular gun is unloaded, see Rule 1.)
  • Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target. This is the Golden Rule. Its violation is directly responsible for about 60 percent of inadvertent discharges.
  • Identify your target, and what is behind it. Never shoot at anything that you have not positively identified.
You can even check out the Wikipedia page in Gun Safety and search for the word water or shooting over water or into water and you will find nothing, but if you look on the back of your newly bought cartrige box you will fin explicit instructions to not fire into or over a body of water.
From the local news station we learn of a guy as the story says: "A sheriff's report says the man told deputies he fired a shot into the Deschutes River on Sunday afternoon but the bullet ricocheted off a rock and hit him in the temple. When he scratched the spot with his finger, he says the bullet fell out of his head and into the river." We what was behind this guys target was a rock. I don't know how many times I have been shooting along the canals in Yuma, AZ or in my back yard into the pond when I lived in the woods, so this gives us all something to think about and and if you don't think its real or predictable, here is an example of how predictable a ricochet could be:

That's why he is not running on that platform in 2012

The DNC was a win for Obama, but a loss for civil liberties - Opinion - Al Jazeera English: "For eight years under George W Bush, Democrats excoriated the former President and his administration for their brazen dismissal of many basic constitutional rights, and for much of Bush's second term, it was often Barack Obama who was leading the charge. Instead, Obama has re-enforced many of them, and in the 2012 Democratic platform, most of the party's previous positions were erased all together."

    The big take over!!!

"To understand how extensive this is, the Western Center for Journalism published a list of “Obama’s Worst Executive Orders” asserting that some 900 Obama executive orders had been initiated when in fact Obama has signed 139. However, added to active EOs from previous administrations, the Center is correct in its fears that he is "creating a martial law ‘Disney Land’ of control covering everything imaginable.”  And then the list follows...

But then I learn from Guffaw that the actual number is only 135 which by itself is a pretty big number, plus he has a pretty good take on it.

I tell my liberal friends to vote for Jill Stein

I figure a vote for Jill is just another vote not going to Obama, make sure you tell to look at their liberal polls because those show that Obama already has enough of the vote, so they really wouldn't be throwing their votes away. 6 weeks and smoke free

I haven't had cigarette for 6 weeks and I am still coughing up crap with black specs in it. Now don't get all "way to go man!!!" just yet, I have only found another nicotine delivery system know as the E-cig. I get all of the hand to mouth habits that smokers need so much (kinda like the way I live), I can vape (e-cig users son't call it smoking we call it "vaping"), it only costs me a like a buck a day (compared to $4.79 for a pack of sweet tasting Camel Menthol Wides), I think that I may get more nicotine, the menthol "juice" I have tastes just like my beloved Camel Menthol Wides, but there is a whole plethora of flavors that I can have. You can look online yourself and make your own judgement as to if they are safe or not, but they have to be a lot safer than smoking and all of the crap that they put in "analog" (E-cig users call regular cigarettes "analogs") cigarettes. I never noticed how much smokers smell like smoke until the other day when I had to work next to a smoker. If you want to join in on the craze I suggest a store in Oregon called NW Vapors, they make their own juice and their products seem much higher quality than some of the other stuff I have seen around. If you are a serious smoker (1-2 packs a day) I STRONGLY suggest going with the KGO/EGO type battery with a CE4 cartomizer on the top and you will not be disappointed!!! I am actually using the 24mg juice right now, but just got some 18mg juice to slowly step down my nicotine dependence. We will see what happens when I have a few beers with the 18mg stuff, I have no problems wanting a smoke with the 24mg juice and I like to toss back a couple in the evenings on the weekends. So give it a try, it seems to have helped me out quite a bit.

And you cant yell "Fire!!!" in a crowded theater

Guy is lucky he didn't get shot being in AZ and all, but I personally doubt my snubby .357mag revolver would be much match against a rocket launcher, so I would be the first to tuck tail and run...

Federal surveillance rises sharply under Obama | WashingtonGuardian

So have we had a spike in Federal crime??? The Washington Guardian says:

"The standard for obtaining a court order for such surveillance requires that the information sought is relevant to an investigation. That standard is far less than the law requires to obtain a warrant to conduct a physical search: probable cause to believe a crime has been committed."

Going Halt is a good thing and the little ladies hate it when you point it out...

Ernest Emerson tells us about knives

I am sure I left something out

Here is what I don't understand about progressives and the people who elect them. Let's start with Bush who was a huge progressive and because he represented a party that started with an "R" all the members of the party that start with "D" blame it on the "R"'s with out seeing that they really are the same and it's only different when their team does it, so what what's good for thee is not good for me. Everything that Bush did that was wrong and evil from the wars on terrorisim that will never end to borrowing endless amounts of money from other countries like China and printing what we can't borrow and double taxing investments and huge growths in gov'ts were highly frowned upon by the Liberal Mainstream media or better yet lets talk about losing our 1st and 4th amendment rights through the Patriot Act or the NDAA and talk about the gov't that is building a huge faciltity that is going to be used to spy on us through any all electronic communications. All these things were wrong when Bush did them and they are wrong when Obama does them, but Obama's party has  a "D" in front of its name so that makes it OK?!?!? We wont even get into all of the golf Bush played and how much he campaigned and how Obama has done 4 times as much. Just like when Clinton didn't do anything about the attack on the USS Cole, Bush was asleep behind the wheel when 9-11 happened, Obama failed to meet with his foreign policy team days before we had citizens and soldiers killed and our embassies attacked all progressives are all the same.  Now I am not saying that Romney is a night in shining armor because he isn't. He is an establishment progressive just like Bush and Obama, but a couple of things we do gain with Romney is some sort of transparency that we don't get from Obama in regards to the media, if we have a republican in the white house again we may see some actual journalism again, the second part would be jobs by opening up the Keystone pipeline and reducing our dependence on foreign oil which sounds evil, but we need jobs and we have the resources for it and they we could have money to develop into green energy instead of borrowing money to fund plans that have proven not to work. If peace and being green are important to you, don't vote for Obama, vote for Jill Stein, she respects your 1st and 4th amendment rights has a energy and economic plan that promises free ice cream for all and vehicles that run on unicorn farts for everybody!!!! and without all of the wars in the middle east and stuff or Gary Johnson who is a guy with a proven track record in the state he governed, respects your 1st and 4th amendment rights, but has a jobs plan and a green energy plan and believes in peace with a strong defense, because lets face it Carter, Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama have pretty much have pissed off most of the countries in the world or their citizens over the years. I am starting look back at the way the American peole have voted for the last 30 years and I am reminded of the definition of stupidity...

Your money is worth less now than it was last week.

You can't blame it on Republicans for not raising the debt ceiling this time, but on QE3, but you can blame them for extending a bad budget to keep the gov't functioning during an election year and worse yet it was the GOP freshmen who sold us down the river!!!  Printing more money makes our money worth less, till it is worthless as we see what Obama has done with our AAA credit rating that he inherited from the Bush administration. I thought it was Constitution Day?!?!?!? So let's quote some framers of the Constitution like "those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither" And yes it was the republicans who passed it, they love perpetual war almost as much as the democrats do. Let's also not forget that every terrorist attack that has been stopped in this country has been perpetuated by the F.B.I., which means that these people who have been accused of domestic terrorism were pushed by the F.B.I. to do it, even Rolling Stone Magazine wrote an article about it and we know that Obama has already used a drone on an American citizen (a 16 year old kid none the less) to be assassinated, so don't think it couldn't happen to you!!!!
